Finding Out The Truth About Psoriasis After 30 Years of Suffering | Stephen Lashbrook

Stephen Lashbrook shares his remarkable transformation from 30 years of severe psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis to complete healing through the carnivore diet. After being 90% covered in psoriasis, experiencing debilitating joint pain, depression, and suicidal thoughts, Stephen was offered immunosuppressive drugs as his only treatment option. Instead of accepting a lifetime of medication, he discovered Michaela Peterson's story and decided to try the lion diet (beef and water only). Within months, his skin cleared completely, joint pain disappeared, and his mental health dramatically improved.

Stephen's journey highlights the failures of conventional medicine in treating autoimmune diseases and reveals how dietary intervention can achieve results that pharmaceuticals cannot. He lost 70 pounds of excess fat, regained normal sleep patterns, and transformed his quality of life from "zero to a thousand." His story demonstrates the powerful connection between food and autoimmune conditions, particularly how eliminating plant foods, dairy, and processed foods while focusing on red meat can reverse severe inflammatory conditions that doctors claimed were incurable.

Key Takeaways

  • Strict lion diet (beef and water only) can completely reverse severe psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis within 8-9 months, even after 30 years of progressive disease
  • Dairy products, even raw dairy, can trigger autoimmune flares in sensitive individuals due to inflammatory proteins like casein that cross-react with body tissues
  • Eliminating plant foods, seed oils, and carbohydrates led to 70 pounds of fat loss within 8 months without calorie restriction or excessive exercise
  • Mental health improvements including elimination of suicidal thoughts and depression often occur rapidly within the first few weeks of starting carnivore
  • Medical literature from the 1800s through 1970s documented successful treatment of autoimmune diseases with red meat and water diets, but this knowledge was abandoned
  • Autoimmune conditions require avoiding all potential trigger foods initially, though some people can reintroduce certain animal foods like eggs or pork after 6-8 months of healing

my quality of life went from zero to a th000 it's just the most amazing thing and I'm upset at the entire industry of doctors and pharmaceuticals and food I feel like I was robbed of 30 years of my life cuz no you know I this was kept from me and no one told me that this was this easy and you could cure yourself they said it would never be cured and I'd be on drugs for the rest of my life and that's what they kept telling me I just wish I had found this 30 years ago I accomplished a lot in the last 30 years that I wanted to but I did it with such struggle I could have done a thousand times [Music] more welcome to the plant-free MD podcast with Dr Anthony chaffy where we discuss diet and nutrition and how this affects health and chronic disease and show you how you can use this to optimize your health and happiness both mentally and physically hello everybody and welcome to another episode of the plantree MD podcast I'm your host Dr Anthony chaffy and today I have a very special guest Mr Stephen Lashbrook who is coming to tell us his story with carnivore diet Stephen thank you so much for coming on it's a pleasure to meet you thank you for having me it's an honor to be here with you yeah so for people haven't come across you before can you please tell us a bit about you so basically um my journey began with a lot of trauma as a child and um I don't know if that sort of had an effect on my later health conditions or not I I believe it did um as far as a lot of the mental um around 18 19 years old I was diagnosed with stic arthritis um had a few little spots and um they gave me some steroid creams steroid creams didn't really help me they were nasty and you had to use them like three four times a day um from that it got worse and worse and for the next 30 Years um it continued to take over my entire body and so yeah um about October of 2022 I went to my last doctor's appointment I was pretty much 90% covered in psoriasis at that point I could barely move I couldn't sleep couldn't barely go to work uh couldn't function normal as a human being in society anymore and uh the doctor said well I'll give you these two injections since we tried all you know steroid creams we tried the UVB light therapy um whatever and you know I asked him about the side effects and they were really nasty and he also said that you know this was a lifelong commitment you know once you're on these these um I guess autoimmune suppressant drugs you know you're on them for for a lifetime and so I basically told him that you know with the side effects that that would end up killing me um I was already suicidal I was PR depressed and those were some of the major side effects with that stuff so I went home to end my own life and I was over it and done and I came across Michaela Peterson story while going through my phone to figure out a way to say goodbye to the world and I saw what it did for her and I I said well you know I'm not ready go I don't want to die I don't want to stop you know trying um so I gave that a whirl and Dove slowly um into lion and carnivore well I'm I'm really glad that you were able to find that it's sort of a bit serendipitous that that you did find her and and I'm glad you did you know sometimes we we sort of get the m we need right at the at the right time but a lot of other people probably haven't yet and so hopefully um they do but I'm really glad that that happened and you didn't take your life um so that I mean that's obviously very very profound burden of disease getting almost completely covered with psoriasis and and then the psoriatic arthritis part of that is obviously I'm sure extremely painful um joint swelling and and and um issues with that um what what were some of the changes you saw I mean how what was your transition like and and what sort of benefits did you see when you did transition so I started off with fasting and eliminating um like the junk food aspect of it and at that point I was basically eating raw vegetables and junk food at night um to ease the depression and um yeah that was my crutch but yeah so I slowly started with fasting and and and cutting that stuff out and then moved into the basically animal-based type of eating and yeah things started changing um my my uh my skin started appearing better um the patches weren't as inflamed in this red and then the itch started going away slowly um and then you know they would decrease in size and the joint pain really took longer than everything else um the depression Went Away really fast uh the Suicidal Thoughts basically stopped and they've been around my whole life um at random times throughout the day you would just get these messages of like all right you forget it just end it now like weird awful thoughts um throughout my life constantly and um numerous times I almost acted on them and yeah so that stuff completely went away and that was like mindblowing to me because you know I thought I was stuck like this um and as far as everything else I thought I was stuck with all these issues sleep um I got maybe two hours of sleep at night if I was lucky so yeah I sleep eight hours a night now um my skin is completely clear um it's just mindblowing um yeah so yeah that's well that's amazing and um so was it sort of a how long did it take to clear up your skin and um uh was it did it did it start clearing up to sort of right away when you're doing the fasting and changing to animal based or um you said you mentioned that you did sort of the full lion diet like Michaela was just the red meat and water um was that was there a reason for that you just feel better or or did that help you get rid of the rest of the the rashes and symptoms and things like that right so I was at the point uh last November where I'd gotten down to basically lion and things were getting really W really good I'd gone through a point um before that where things got worse for a minute and then you know I pretty much figured it was all the toxin dumping and oxalate dumping and then and all the other crap you know that I was getting over um but yeah then it it started getting really better and then the holidays came around last November and I cheated on Thanksgiving I was alone I was uh depressed and so I was like I'll have a piece of pie and that led to the entire rest of the year of going back to eating crap and feeding my depression um through the holidays and being alone and going through a breakup and just all these things were happening and and I wasn't handling it well and so January 1 I said screw it and I went strict Lon so for the last nine months um I've just been going that direction and uh yeah so after that I cleared fast like after going lion and I I realized that once I took out Derry um Derry definitely because I when I started doing lion before I would have Dairy and I wasn't improving as much you know I was basically just carnivore and dairy um you know and yeah the dairy for me I don't know why some people just it inflames them so bad and I tried the raw um I tried everything but I just can't do it it definitely affects me yeah I I see that a lot as well especially with with autoimmunity some people do fine with dairy and I don't have a problem with dairy but um I I feel best without it certainly but I don't feel bad with it it's just I don't feel I I don't feel as great as if I'm just eating steaks you know just eating beef but people with autoimmune issues I see that that really U being a problem for most people with autoimmunity I don't really know of anybody that I've treated anyway with autoimmune issues that that could really tolerate that uh I even even to the ENT that I've had um patients with Hashimoto it's very easy to test their antibodies um in Hashimoto and they um and when they're they're sort of adding in Dairy and doing these sorts of things you actually start seeing their antibodies start to creep up and when we cut them out then it just comes down again so there is some sort of immune reaction and and inflammatory reaction the casian in particular seems to be very inflammatory the A1 is much more inflammatory uh than the A2 but the A2 is actually still inflammatory it's just much less so than the A1 and so especially if you're dealing with an inflammatory disease like autoimmunity just seems that that people need to to avoid it um you know which is a shame because cheese is nice but you know it's not the world yeah but so why do you think that someone like me maybe is predisposed to not being able to have Dairy is it because I do have an actual autoimmune disease or was my gut just so screwed up like I I'm trying to figure that part out um so the thing is is that I think there's the genetic well I think it's both so there's the genetic predisposition environmental triggers and there's also leaky gut so if you're not if if you don't have leaky gut then a lot of these things aren't going to get into your system but if they do have if you do have leaky gut and that comes from generally lectin and plant toxins like like uh wheat germal glutenin and then these can get into your system then these other toxin get in your system bacteria can get into your system and then your body makes antibodies towards them because that's what your body is supposed to do and then there's certain people that have a bit of a cross reactivity or um something going on that their body is making these antibodies and those antibodies are now attacking their body as well and that doesn't happen to everybody but it's way more common than we realize um it's becoming more and more common prevalent as well so I think there's probably it's probably going to be most people are probably going to be pretty susceptible to this stuff but because you you're making these antibodies towards something that's harmful um and getting cross reaction you know you just have to avoid anything that's going to trigger that response so it seems that milk and dairy does this eggs as well uh for some reason you know could be something to do with with the cows eating or it could just be that this can cause inflammation and damage and cause leaky gut which allows other things like bacteria even in and you can get that that sort of autoimmune sort of reaction as well it's hard to say because we don't you know it's it's a lot of guesswork with autoimmune issues we don't know exactly why these things go but it has to do with something with your food because you eat certain things and the antibodies go up you stop eating those things antibodies go away and so the other thing is too is that when you stop eating a lot of this stuff uh your leaky gut can heal and then a lot of people with autoimmunity and I have a friend of mine Phil escott who had psoriatic arthritis and came to a carnivore diet to heal that and um after about 68 months he found that he could start tolerating a bit of dairy and a bit of eggs and some chicken or pork whereas for those first six months it was he could not tolerate anything outside of beef and lamb and so presumably when his leaky guts started healing and had that bit of barrier protection he could tolerate a bit more of these sorts of things um but then Michaela Peterson who you mentioned even what is she now probably six going on seven years now um she says that even you know years into it uh you know pork will give her a rheumatoid arthritis flare up and and fruit will too so you know for her she you know it just gets right into her system right away so you know it's something's getting through even without leaky gut because presumably that would have healed by now so it's hard to say but you know there's something in there that's causing inflammation that's causing this immune autoimmune reaction and um it seems to be you know dair's triggering in that and we're not we're not really designed to drink cow's milk in general I we're designed to drink human milk uh which is very similar but not the same and um and generally not as adults you know we that that's that's a that's a very recent uh genetic adapt to be able to tolerate lactose as an adult um and so there's these sort of more recent adaptations and starch that's when people thinks like oh we've been eating root vegetables and starchy vegetables for forever no we haven't that's actually a very recent genetic adaptation um and that that comes from after you know the meapa died out or were much less plentiful and we had to start looking at other sorts of uh other ways of eating uh we start Ed we started moving to those sorts of things and and dairy was one of those things so we had these adaptations but you know it's not strictly optimal like you know Mammoth is you know what I mean but uh yeah so it's Mammoth yeah that's what we that's what we grew up on you know we had been eating mammoth for you know millions of years and so yeah that's that's what we should be eating really yeah yeah hey everyone really happy to announce a new new sponsor for the show and for everybody down in Australia Stockman Stakes who are delivering highquality grass-fed and finished pasture raised beef and other meats flash frozen and vacuum sealed to adore something I've been enjoying a lot of myself recently as well they also have a great range of specialty items such order at Stockman stakes. comom and I'll see you over there thanks guys so at this point so now it's been about eight months and you just been just strict line and what how are your how are your symptoms now what are you what are you experiencing I I tell you day by day it literally blows my mind how much better I get um I didn't think the pain would ever go away honestly I was I've been living in so much pain [Music] for so many years and uh yeah I like just trying to fall asleep at night I would have to like kick my legs and just I couldn't lie still just everything would throb I'd spasm um you know it was it was a real hell it was literally um hell um so yeah sleeping is amazing it's the best thing ever um and my skin to be able able to you know go out in public and not have to you know worry about people pointing and staring and making awful comments and really rude comments um is amazing and to not feel confined to that just tight burning itchy just like I don't know you feel like you're in a in a straight jacket of crusty painfulness know and I was bleeding all the time you know the steroid the steroid creams really thin my skin out a lot and so you know I'd rub up against cardboard and I just start bleeding I'd itch a little spot I just start bleeding I'd wake up in the middle of the night sheets covered in blood because I was itching in the middle of my sleep like um all that's gone and so my quality of life went from zero to a th and it's it's just the most amazing thing and I'm I'm upset at the entire industry of of doctors and pharmaceuticals and food and um you know I feel like I was robbed of 30 years of my life there's no you know I this was kept from me and no one told me that this was this easy and you could cure yourself they said it would never be cured and I'd be on drugs for the rest of my life and that's what they kept telling me yeah and and you know and that's what we're taught but that's not what people used to be taught I mean there were books on this there have been studies on this um throughout the 20th century and even in the 19th century you know in the 1800s we were we were treating autoimmune issues with a pure red meat and water diet and there were doctors still writing books and writing papers and still arguing and um and showing the evidence for this even into the 1970s and there are other studies that shown for other autoimmunity autoimmune diseases like Crohn's disease that you just put people on Elemental diet which is just the macros and micros that you need nothing else uh generally ketogenic little shakes sort of things and that's a better treatment for an acute flare of prones than um than prazone than the steroids right and so just not eating certain things is a better treatment than steroids and cutting out carbs and fiber could keep people in remission for cronn for up to uh 51 months so over four years and contrast that with the control group that didn't eliminate carbs and fiber and they stayed in a remission on average zero months these are recent studies that have been done in humans and yet no one knows about them they are not taught in medical school they are not taught in residency programs because there's no money behind it right and and that's not that's not disparaging any any it's just it's just pointing something out that when you have a drug company putting you know spending a billion dollars bringing a drug to Market there a lot of that money is going to be on sales reps and marketing and getting that information to the doctor so the doctor has it available to them it's going to be they're going to be funding medical schools and medical programs and the AMA and diabetes associations and all these other conferences so that their information for their product gets out there fine you know that's how that information gets out there unfortunately there's no product line behind these dietary interventions and so you know there's no you know there's no industry that can that has the budget the marketing budget to to fund that sort of thing so unfortunately we just have to we just have to learn it ourselves and doctors unfortunately think that if it wasn't talked to them in residency it wasn't worth knowing and it doesn't exist but they've never actually looked for it and when I talk to doctors they're like well there's no there's no evidence for that like have you have you looked you know and I just pull up you know five studies randomized control trials in humans showing the different benefits of ketogenic diets on autoimmunity on Diabetes on Alzheimer's uh on autism all these other sorts of things and you know not everything's an RCT but there are a lot of experimental studies and there's a lot of rcts and um and uh and then and they're blown away because they they're like why why have I never heard of this what's going on well that's why it's it's incentive model so it's yeah it is a shame you know I I certainly wasn't taught any of this stuff I mean this is all you know the majority of medicine that I I practice now is self-taught you know some things that I've had to figure out the but in the framework of everything else I've learned that's certainly very important if I didn't have that framework and understanding of you know of the rest of these systems um you know I wouldn't have been able to make the the conclusions that I have or or or to make the sort of the you have the ideas that I've had and um you know so I I think you do need all of that but either way my education was not complete and you know we we can't think that our education for medical school or residency is ever going to be complete as um I believe it was William Osler famous um medical teacher said to a graduate in class at Harvard um half of what you've learned here is going to turn out to be wrong but no one's going to be able to tell you which half because no one knows so you know you're going to have to keep going and you're going to have to keep rediscovering and learning and researching yourself to figure out which half is wrong and to push the boundaries of of medical understanding and knowledge as you go throughout your careers and that's something that we've forgotten we've just become automatons we become cogs in the machine that we just we just go into a hospital HMO system or a public you know uh government system and you're just like you're here to do a job you're here to just churn out patients and you know you have 10 minutes per patient just turn it out turn it out turn it out turn it out that's what you're here for you're you're a money generating machine and you're getting paid an hourly rate and the money and the hospital is making billions of dollars off of your labor and you've just got to churn this stuff out it's not about pay patient care it's not about actually solving problems and curing diseases it's about churning out a product which is seeing patients doing procedures and things like that so it's just we just have unfortunately uh found ourselves in a very different time and a different modality so you know we just need to change that you know that's why I work in private practice I you know I don't take Medicare uh money and I don't uh or insurance money it's it's like you know and so I'm I can actually spend as much time as I want to with my patients because you know they're they're paying for it and I'm able to sit down and talk to them for half an hour or 45 minutes or an hour an hour and a half sometimes and and get what we need to do uh accomplished and so uh that's a that's I like that better and so it's not just churning out office visits and the good thing about that is is the things that that I'm I'm doing are actually getting people better and so I have I have a high turnover because I I see people intensively for several weeks and going on a couple months and then things start getting better and better and better and start seeing improvements and it's just like hey I'm giving you the skills to just go be a happy healthy adult and then that's it but then what we're we're packed out months in advance with new patients because they're seeing all their friends and family getting better and you know and and so they want they want to come in and and figure it out as well it's great but um yeah unfortunately um you know as well-meaning as your doctors I'm sure were you know they just didn't know about it which is why I'm really glad that you're telling your story so that other doctors who do treat this can maybe wake up and say hey maybe I should try this for my patient yeah a lot of the doctors it seems that I went to in the past few years would just look at their iPad and then say here's prescription and that was it you're done and it's like wait a second we didn't discuss anything you you know it's like wow so yeah the revolving door thing and uh yeah not treating and every book I read about curing psoriasis the psoriasis cure this that they all said don't eat red meat yeah all of them every one of them don't eat red meat eat you know maybe turkey or chicken or something but and fish but yeah um ridiculous I just wish I had found this 30 years ago I man I accomplished a lot in in the last 30 years that I wanted to but I did it with such struggle and and I feel like you know I could have done a thousand times more if I didn't have to deal with all that um to get to where I am now so that part of it really you know bugs me but moving forward so yeah well you know but the the the good news is is that you don't have another 30 years of of misery to look forward to as well you know now you can get going and you know and and if you think about it you you've accomplished um all that you have through serious health adversity now you don't have those you you've dropped the anchor off your back but you're so used to you know dealing with that you know those hard times and now it's good times it's just now life has just gone on easy mode now so that's good too like yeah no it it's it's changed so much everything just my whole outlook on the world um and how I deal with my my daily routine and my daily life now is completely different and it's amazing and I'm so grateful and uh I can't wait to meet Michaela and uh thank her in person at some point she had reached out to me so we're gonna make that happen oh nice yeah was that recently or or yeah she reached out to me um about a month and a half ago and said she wanted to set up like a some type of podcast or something and um with people that are online and having great success and you know I said look I I'm your biggest fan um I you know I have to thank you you saved my life like you know you're my an angel so uh like it or not I'll thank you one way or another so yeah yeah um that would be really cool yeah well that's great that uh that you'll get a chance to meet her and thank her in person it is it is really nice um you know the work that she's doing the work that her dad is doing uh just trying to help people and trying to get this information out there on the carnivore diet as well which is pretty cool that that Jordan Peterson does does carnivore um you know my my other great intellectual hero is uh Thomas so and if I can get any inroads to speaking with him and try to get him on on a carnivore die to give him another 30 years of happiness and health um I would absolutely love to so anyone listening I always have an open open um request that anybody who has an inro to Thomas soul and put me in touch with them I would really appreciate it please do Reach Out Anthony chaffy gmail.com if you have an inroad to to uh get me talking to Thomas Soul because he's just amazing and um but then you know Michaela and and her father Jordan doing amazing stuff and I think that um you know that they've they've done a lot of help a lot of good for people just you know just pushing back on all the just the sort of the the sort of the social craziness that has been going on and just saying hold on second that's not actually going in in a very healthy direction and here's why now you can disagree with it want if you want to but you know they they they voed some very legitimate concerns and um and then the diet thing which is just a total aside it's just something they happen to come across and they're just like yeah this really helped me and it's just that alone is going to help a lot of people and and then getting the combination of hey why don't you have some personal responsibility you know put something know think about your life and have some self-determination and and um and direction in your life and uh clean up your diet and I I don't those very simple tenants are going to really change a lot of people's lives I think and already have I mean you know as far as sasis goes and there's eight million people in the US that have some sort of sioris um and all they getting is the wrong information and so my mission now in life is to get them the correct information and I I I don't want to see people suffer the way I did it's it's unfair and it it doesn't have to be that way like and so yeah I really I really just I'm not going to shut up until I tell as many people as I can and uh yeah yeah good so so at this point have you so obviously the autoimmune issues and the depression have you have you noticed any other uh changes in your health as well so i' lost 70 pounds of fat wow I didn't realize I didn't even realize I I was at like uh 200 lbs I'm six foot tall um and I you know I wore like black extra large t-shirts and you couldn't really tell I could tell I knew I you know but I thought you know I'm eating mostly vegetables and then a PL of Ben here and then whatever I exercised uh I body board um I play music in a band so I thought I was you know active enough but no and then all this weight just started going and going and going I got down to 130 pounds I'm like wait I think I need to start eating more meat think so I started adding more I added more meat to my diet and added more fat to my diet and added more workout and uh so now I'm sitting at like 140 something and I feel amazing um I'll be 49 in like a week and a half and yeah I haven't felt this good since I was 17 18 in college yeah yeah yeah that's it's a miracle really a miracle how um how long did it take you to lose those 70 pounds uh the 70 pounds went off I mean they're wow it went quick I say within eight months yeah wow between the fasting and and quitting you know all the the vegetables the seed oils the carbs bread pasta all of it um yeah it's just was amazing to me I was like wow this is it's like my 17y old body is is insane so yeah now you know workouts mean more to me because I can see see things happening you know when I work out I can see the difference um but before I was just I was bloated I was inflamed and I was carrying a lot of fat I didn't even yeah no I I need to lose 70 pounds of fat that's yeah that's significant and yeah get I mean that's a good it's a good point too people get discouraged when they go to the gym and they're not seeing too much of a difference they're not seeing muscle go on or fat come off it's a and it's a slow grind and all that sort of stuff and they get very discouraged they go hard you know it's like the the New Year's resolution everybody's everybody is going to you know be a body you do a fitness competition starting January and then by February was like no screw that doesn't work you know and um uh so yeah so when you have when you're getting much better results like that and um and you're going to the gym and and you got the the layers off and then you can see the muscles started to develop yeah that's definitely going to be more encouraging that makes sense absolutely and it makes you feel amazing to look in the mirror at this point you know I used to hate the mirror I despise I wouldn't go me he the mirror um you know it's it's it's amazing that I have the pictures I do of myself at some of my worst points because it was hard really hard to take those um yeah but I knew I was I was going to go through through this journey and and if it worked I wanted the world to see that it worked MH yeah that's why I took sorry go on what was that that's why I took some of those pictures I took of myself you know before I before I healed well it's really important isn't it and um it's important to show those before and afters I mean we're even putting together a case series actually on on psoriasis um and and one of the more powerful parts of that is is the before and after pictures because it's it's something you know when you're talking about people's symptoms and and blood numbers and colonoscopies and biopsy all that sort of stuff it it sort of gets lost in the in the wind but if you seen a picture it was just like here's before here's after wow that's a big difference yeah my images have been banned on on X oh really um oh yeah yeah and and they were images that were you know grouped up a post to before and after thanking Michaela thanking I believe you thanking um Sean Baker a whole bunch of people and banned banned banned this post is you know there whatever some kind of you know content that we can't show and yet they show babies being blown apart in the wars and all this other crap and it's like really I can't I can't show like my before and after yeah yeah so yeah that's a little discouraging at times um you know the people that attack you and tell you this is you know that you're full of crap and this is not real and you're and I'm like look I'll come to your house you know I'll show and knock on your door you can look at me yeah I'm living walking proof that this works and uh I've been through all the other crap and it doesn't work so I don't know what else to tell people hey guys just want to take a second to thank our sponsor at carnivore bar I don't promote many products because honestly all you need to be healthy is to just eat meat for those times that you're out hiking road tripping or stuck at work and you getting the story out and more and more stories and and um and and the Publications you know you have that you know published you know it's not just anecdotal anymore it's like no that's in the published literature just this is the an observed phenomenon somebody published me man I'm a lab rat let's go like I'm I I just I feel like this has to be taught to every dermatologist and rheumatologist ASAP like this is the most important thing and you know the diet here in America is is so awful and you wonder why eight million people have sisis well I mean come on look look what they're eating yeah just come on the correlation is just so insane so yeah yeah well I got a lot of work to do well it's even sort of look you see it more of a cause and effect sort of relationship as well not that that's been shown in experimental studies which I think would be great if we did um but you stop eating certain things and your rash goes away your psoriasis goes away your symptoms goes away go away and you start eating that stuff again and it comes right back and then you stop and it goes away and you come and it comes back and it goes away I mean it's it's almost as if there's a relationship there and so yeah almost and so you know and and when more and more people are doing this and they're having the exact same cause and effect relationship with food people just need to need to start paying attention you know it's you know the the our our medical understanding advances all the the time that's why guidelines change every five years that's why textbooks get updated that's why we have research dep departments because they're like hey we don't know everything yet right and so to then un to understand that and say yes we need to research we need to find this out and then just deny the lived experience of hundreds of thousands of people millions of people around the world is well it's it's just asinine is what it is you know it's it's just I mean it's stupid on its face but it's also it's just it's just bloody insane I mean like what what do you mean you're just going to ignore that why would you that it's it's evil and and you know they why would you want to push something as simple as changing a diet when you can't make any money off of that so get it I I really get it which is why you know I won't shut up so yeah and and you shouldn't you know because yeah we we don't have a multi-billion dollar marketing department behind this and so we need to we need to have the personal testimonials and for YouTube and you know pod the internet like man thank goodness yeah yeah well because this this used to be the treatment for autoimmune diseases even the 1800s you know this was this is how you treated autoimmune issues well with Dr Salsbury figured this out um and they were using this all throughout the 20th century of just meat and water you know beef and water diets lamb being a distant second best and and then and then we just papered over it and forgot about it um yeah where did that turn go and how did that happen and why wasn't I able to find that book when I was looking for books you know the last 30 years just the the vilification of meat they just said Meets Evil sinful causes it causes lust and now it causes heart disease now it causes cancer now it causes diabetes you know the people that were saying in the 1800s that meat is sinful and causes lust are the ones paying for the studies now that say that it causes heart disease and cancer and diabetes it's the same people it's the same motivations and now you have a profit motivation as well uh with processed food companies which are all plant-based and so you know you have this profit incentive as well as an ideological incentive and when they started really sort of getting traction was in the late 70s and early 80s and that's when everything changed and we just throughout all you know centuries and Millennia of of of learned experience and medical knowledge and um and and just replaced it overnight oh well that's all old stuff we're so smart now you know maybe but are we you know be careful you know you never never tear down a fence uh until you know why it was put up in the first place and so don't just throw away hundreds of years of of medical knowledge and experience um on a whim you know you need to make damn sure that uh that that you're right about it and so um and they didn't there's no experimental data no experimental uh evidence to show this it was um and we know now that it was just propaganda and and marketing and things like that so unfortunately you know we've been suffering for for a while now but thankfully you know people like yourself have rediscovered this and the you know the knowledge of the of the Ancients and uh come back and um and gotten better which is great yeah no it's it's it's I I couldn't ask you know I I prayed for this for 30 years and uh I couldn't ask for anything better at this point in my life I really couldn't that's good so then do you or do you speak out about this do you have your own channel are you're talking about this do you help others uh going through this as well so I started a new Instagram after my first podcast with h Carrie from homestead how who's awesome he's so cool yeah yeah um super cool guy so yeah after that I started a new Instagram called carnivore healing Ranch because my new vision is to have a place where people can come and I can help them through the process if you know they can't do it on their own and they're able to come to a to a retreat and get away for a month or two months you know maybe two weeks a week whatever it takes um so yeah I I that page grew um in the last few few months uh to I don't know 3,500 followers and a lot of those followers are extremely active with me and talk to me on the daily basis so I've some days spent three hours a day answering people's questions um and so now I'm trying to figure out how to get all this work together so that I can help everybody that wants my help and I can also have a place to help people um and so once I have that I want to start a YouTube channel or a podcast um there's just so much that I think I can do at this point and I believe you know YouTube and podcasts um Instagram I won't use Tik Tok because I'm old and I don't know anything about um but yeah so you know I'm trying to get advice from anybody who's who's done gofundmes and and you know money raising um or has done you know Retreats um I have a friend who knows somebody who has a bunch of like rehab Retreats and so I'm going to try and talk to him and and see you know how he did it what kind of you know laws I have to deal with and rules and so there's a lot but um I should have a GoFundMe out within a couple weeks here um that I feel is you know ready to uh start this train rolling yeah nice and uh well I I think it that's great that you're getting yourself out there uh the more voices the better sometimes you can say things until you're blew in the face and and it just doesn't really you know connect with people and then somebody else says it and in their own way with their own take on it and all of a sudden it makes sense even though it's largely the same material it's just like oh that I get it now I I I see what they're saying and that makes sense to me then they try it and then they you know that's all it is you know you just you just try it and see and and when people do they know it works because it yeah there so many things that this you know that carnivore helps and you know so there's so many different people with so many different experiences of all these different things that that have you know changed and helped so you know all those people's voices need to be heard and that's why i' you know like to definitely start some sort of podcast and I just want to get out there I mean if I could talk to wimbley Stadium full of people I would you know like I I just I just want to get out there and and help is many people um like I said suffering is not something that you want to see anyone go through and you know going through it like I did for 30 years I just I I just want to stop that from happening to anyone yeah absolutely well I think I think a YouTube channel is a great idea you know and you just you just start making videos you just talk about your story and and uh what you were going through you show before and after pictures and you say well this is this is what worked for me this is what's working for others as well seems to be some sort of relationship with the food our bodies are reacting to it and making antibodies that are now hitting our body as well and you stop eating the stuff it goes away if I eat this stuff again it comes back it's very clear and so for me I'm not eating anything else and these are my results and you know give it a try and see how you go something like that something is just simple as that is actually very powerful especially when people don't have anywhere to go like you know where you were yeah it was a miracle that I came across her I think it was her Ted talk or something and it was an absolute Miracle because I had no idea who she was I knew who her father was but I had no idea who she was um and I just sat there and my jaw dropped and I was like wait a second no one's ever said this they've always told me the opposite how can this be wait is this really real and the more I like I just kept looking and further and went down the whole rabbit hole that day and I said God you know this is this is a sign this is this is another chance um yeah I'm just so grateful so grateful so yeah like you know if I can have that effect on one other person you know like this is worth it all of it worth it yeah right well Stephen thank you so much for that I think that's is going to be very helpful for people and I think the more people that come out and tell their story and especially with such a a massive recovery like you've had um is is is going to turn heads and it's going to give people hope um when I mean you know exactly how hopeless you can get in this situation and hopefully somebody else sees this in time and and uh and is inspired by your story and uh ends up changing their life as well uh so thank you very much for sharing your story and uh please do tell us where can people find you and and follow you more more of your work and get in touch with you so right now um focusing most of my energy as far as social world at carnivore uncore healing Ranch on Instagram so from this please do give it a try send this to people who uh may need to hear this and may benefit from this as well because this is the only way we can get this message out there is by word of mouth
