The #1 Diet To REVERSE Chronic Diseases! | Rebekah Heishman

Dr. Anthony Chaffee interviews Rebecca Farmer, a health and life coach who transformed from being 69 pounds at 5'6" and near death in 2019 to achieving complete health recovery through the carnivore diet. Rebecca suffered from an extensive list of supposedly "incurable" conditions including CREST scleroderma, chronic C. diff infection, Hashimoto's disease, narcolepsy, osteoporosis since sixth grade, and had gone 16 years without a menstrual cycle. Doctors told her she wouldn't live past 30 and would never have children.

After trying keto for 15 years with limited success, Rebecca made the switch to strict carnivore (just fatty lamb, salt, and water) for an entire year while hospitalized. She gained 65 healthy pounds and began reversing every diagnosis. Her breakthrough came when she discovered aged meat was causing histamine reactions, leading her to source non-aged meat from Billy Do Meats. The nutritional intervention allowed her body's natural detoxification pathways to function properly without expensive protocols or medications.

Rebecca has now completely reversed over 15 diagnoses including autoimmune diseases, mood disorders, digestive issues, and narcolepsy - conditions medical professionals claimed were permanent. She successfully conceived and gave birth to a healthy baby while maintaining the carnivore lifestyle throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding. Her experience demonstrates the body's remarkable ability to heal when provided with bioavailable nutrients from animal foods while eliminating plant toxins and anti-nutrients that were triggering her immune system responses.

Now Rebecca helps clients achieve similar recoveries through her coaching practice, emphasizing that these results aren't miraculous exceptions but predictable outcomes when supporting the body with proper nutrition. Her story provides hope for others suffering from complex, multi-system health issues that conventional medicine considers incurable.

Key Takeaways

  • Strict carnivore diet (fatty lamb, salt, water only) for one full year allowed Rebecca to gain 65 healthy pounds and reverse 15+ supposedly incurable diagnoses including CREST scleroderma and narcolepsy
  • Histamine intolerance from aged meats can initially worsen carnivore symptoms - switching to fresh, non-aged meat sources resolved this barrier to healing
  • Complete reversal of autoimmune antibodies is possible - Rebecca's Hashimoto's antibodies went to zero and stayed there, proving conditions can be permanently resolved rather than just managed
  • Carnivore diet restored fertility after 16 years of amenorrhea, allowing successful pregnancy and abundant breast milk production while maintaining maternal health
  • High-fat animal-based nutrition supports natural detoxification pathways more effectively than expensive mold/SIRS protocols - clients reversed CIRS without binders or Shoemaker protocols
  • Narcolepsy, osteoporosis, and degenerative disc disease completely reversed through nutrition alone - conditions that conventional medicine considers progressive and irreversible
  • Women in menopause can regain menstrual cycles and fertility on carnivore - eating meat and saturated fat is sufficient to restore hormonal function
  • Benzodiazepin withdrawal after 13 years became manageable with proper nutrition, while mood disorders resolved as the brain received adequate animal-based nutrients

literally just eat meat and saturated fat you'll get your period back okay that's all you need a lot of mood disorders a lot of people who have been you know severely depressed on anti-depressants for years and years or benzidines and I just understand the struggle and I and I am that person that can reassure them that hey this might take time but it's totally worth it to get your mind back to get your life back to no longer be a zombie even people in my family I won't mention who they are for privacy sake but you know they're coming off of lifelong medications and just eating more meat every day and it's incredible to see welcome to the plant-free MD podcast with Dr Anthony chaffy where we discuss diet and nutrition and how this affects health and chronic disease and show you how you can use this to optimize your health and happiness both mentally and physically hello everyone thank you for joining another episode of the plant-free MD podcast I'm your host Dr Anthony chaffy and today I have a very special guest Rebecca farmer from tailored keto Health who is here to tell us her story and experiences with diet nutrition and her many issues that this helped Rebecca thank you so much for coming on the show thank you so much for having me you're very welcome so for people that haven't come across you before can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do I am a full-time health and life coach and that is because I was very very sick in 2019 I was 69 pounds at 5'6 fighting for my life with a chronic CI infection that almost took my life bunch of autoimmune diseases mood disorders digestive issues a lot of diagnoses that I was told were uncurable I was told I wouldn't live past 30 years old I was told I would never have children and so I am here to spread the message of Hope and also to really walk alongside others in the way that I wish I would have had during those darkest of times wow well that's that's amazing so uh well that's really scary so why why were your doctors telling you you weren't going to live past 30 or 230 primarily due to the crest Scleroderma that I had it was rapidly increasing I guess it was taking over my internal organs my lungs I believe still have a little bit of scar tissue there so that's why they would tell me that but I was also diagnosed with things like failure to thrive um I had sarcopenia things that you know young people shouldn't be dealing with I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in the sixth grade um I hadn't had ay for 16 years before I got it back on the carnivore diet so lots of reasons to think that I wouldn't make it but when two separate doctors tell me I shouldn't live past 30 years old that was really disturbing yeah well that that is really scary so so you're very very sick and very underweight and what were you eating at the time were you trying to I mean were the doctors putting you on diets putting you on pills like what was the the treatment for that so the treatment for C if I mean their recommendations were take the antibiotics eventually I took over 13 rounds of antibiotics before I was approved for a feal transplant I had three of those total and they did not stay basically it didn't stick it kept taking back over so at that point in 2019 they're saying we have to remove your colon due to inflammation and we have to hook you up to a feeding tube so their nutrition recommendations were like eat toast you know they would tell me different things all the time um but I was very underweight at one point I was misdiagnosed with an eating disorder this is before I was diagnosed with CI before anyone discovered it I was on a ketogenic diet because I had autoimmune issues I I was diagnosed with with chronic lyme disease in 2017 so the ketogenic diet helped with those symptoms it it allowed me to no longer be bedbound at least I was still struggling a lot so I was keto for 15 years prior to the switch to carnivore um and then eventually just pulling out those anti-nutrients is literally what allowed me to gain weight I gained four pounds in the emergency room when I made that switch so um I never was eating a standard American diet if anything I was paleo even as a young child my mom you know didn't keep a lot of sugar in the house yeah it's just hyper sensitive to these plant toxins and things like that absolutely yeah but I hear they're good for you though they're hormetic so maybe that was like I know I hear about these antioxidants the Greiner the better the more bitter the better the more autoimmune the better like that's that's a good thing yeah right right it must be really fighting hard yeah exactly so well it's stimulating your immune system that's a good thing making you stronger that's turning on all these I mean that's that's what you want right you want your body to react and and have a big massive reaction to these toxins that's good and then that that reaction then goes and does good things in your body apparently like Scleroderma and uh and and completely takes over your or no cycle no life yeah bed bound well bad you didn't stick with it imagine imagine how good you would be if you would have stuck with that and had all these toxins I mean I would have been dead I mean yeah and I was doing keto I was doing keto I mean a lot of people are like a lot of people see my pictures and they're like you must have been vegan I was keto and I you know I wasn't dirty keto until the end I struggled with binge eating honestly I was so triggered um but ketogenic is it's a way of eating but it's become this label and it can Encompass a lot of different things and so those anti-nutrients they might be keto but they're not necessarily good spinach avocado black pepper turmeric I was doing turmeric in bulk because I thought it would save my life at one point and it was just loading up on all the oxalates it was horrible yeah well that's really nasty well I'm glad I'm glad you got away from that what what uh got you over to carnivore did you figure that out yourself or did you come across Danny Vega I'm not sure if you're familiar with him he's more in the ketogenic space he um he I actually spoke to him on the phone when I was really sick like right after I was diagnosed with lime and a bunch of autoimmune issues Hashimoto and Addison and I was desperate for help I was like I'm doing keto I'm tracking my macros my ketones are Skyhigh but I'm not getting better and so he was like you know this carnivore thing seems to really help with people with autoimmune issues even the avocado can be high oxalate and I didn't want to hear that I really liked my keto setup I was comfortable I'm definitely like a data nerd and I like tracking and I I felt like I had a path ahead of me but it wasn't helping and so I did try carnivore literally eight times before I got it right and so I did the just beef salt and water and I was having severe histamine and intolerance so I felt worse each time and I was like this isn't for me um so I was like I'm sorry Dan it's not working I give up I'm it's keto for me I also thought you know all the carnivores are overeating protein they're probably spiking their blood sugars I was like you know so stubborn um and then in that emergency room I really felt like God was pulling my arm and saying this ketogenic diet is an idol you are trusting in this diet more than God himself it's literally digging you into your own grave so I gave it up and carnivore always made sense to me it makes sense eat only the bioavailable nutrients um so I did just hardboiled eggs butter and the pork that they had in the hospital gained four pounds when I got out of there I knew I had to stick with carnivore somehow and I had discovered a company called Billy do Meats who have non-aged meat and that was my breakthrough it was like I I felt so much better my mood and energy improved in two weeks significantly and I had severe mood disorders I was a different person I was borderline crazy my husband literally thought I was crazy when he first met me um so yeah it was it was huge that was a long answer sorry oh that's fine yeah it's um well that's really great that you were able to to come to that I mean it's obviously you know you do try it and you have the these problems and obviously you know it's hard to keep going back to that but it's great that you stuck with it and where and found things that worked for you um I did meet Danny Vega at ketocon two years ago really nice guy I haven't uh really been in touch with him since then but that I probably should he's uh he's interesting he's a cool guy he's been a real friend yeah good so how long ago was that that you came to carnivore and how have you been since that was in May of 2019 in that emergency room when I stuck with it I did strict carnivore um so just actually fatty lamb salt and water for an entire year and I gained 65 pounds pounds alog together um 65 healthy pounds it was the best weight gain of my life felt so good and then I reintroduced butter and whole eggs uh I started with egg yolks actually and then I eventually reintroduced other Foods um so I have reversed every single diagnosis every single diagnosis and when I say reversed I mean it's not on my labs it's not in remission it's gone I don't have Hashim motives my antibodies are zero I think a lot of people still think that you can't permanently reverse these diagnoses but you definitely can I am living proof and I do it with my clients as well and I'm sure you see this too yeah well I mean they definitely go away and you just you know I always sort of think of it as um things like lead poisoning you know you get exposed to lead you get lead poisoning and and um they say well you never you always have lead poisoning it never goes away because once you start you know drinking lead again you know then then you get lead poisoning it's like yeah it's not really the same exposure you know but yeah of course you know if you get if you expose yourself to lead uh you know leaded water and things like that you're going to get lead poisoning again that's the same thing same with Hashimoto you know if you're if you're going to there's that you know you expose yourself to toxins again your body's going to respond to these toxins again exactly a toxicity but yeah if there if it's gone it's gone and um you know that's that's amazing so what are some of the the list I didn't know you you sent me a list of all the things you reversed but are you able to Rattle off some of these for yeah definitely so I'll try to go in order Addison's disease Hashimoto's press Scleroderma fibromyalgia which honestly fibro can Encompass a lot of different things rods I was also diagnosed with delayed onset type 1 diabetes don't know if I really had that but I was diagnosed with it it was because my I mean my insulin was non-existent um they were giving me glucagon shots it was pretty wild um I was you're producing producing insulin again oh yeah yeah for sure my blood sugars are steady Freddy really healthy nice um let's see I had then I had regular hypothyroidism without the Hashimoto's component later on um I had the crest Scleroderma and then I had a lot of digestive issues so I had celiac disease I had diverticulitis gastroparesis slow Transit colon IBS and then my mood disorders narcolepsy which is technically an autoimmune disease I had OCD severe insomnia anxiety and ADHD so some those are some of the biggest ones um and I I also had aler of colitis in the end where I had blood in my stools I was involuntarily throwing up geez all right that's amazing and um the narcolepsy one is one that was really interesting to me because that was that's not one that I've ever heard of people being able to it's rare enough you know you don't really come across across it all that often but um that you know we were sort of talking about it before but you know my understanding from I mean I've never looked too much into it but what I was sort of taught when we were very cursory sort of level in medical school was that the body just can't tell when it's tired and you can't go to sleep and then you just go go go go go until the brain just goes nope that's enough and it just shuts off and you could be driving or walking you just fall in your face um and U so was that what you experienced too is that sort of experience or you just sort of fall asleep just sort of randomly and be up for days at a time and things like that pretty much it wasn't what I imagin narcolepsy to be like I'm like mid-step and I just pass out but it was definitely extreme to the point where I could no longer drive for a couple months um and I would go go go I mentioned I would be awake for five days at a time sometimes yeah it was total Mania um it was crazy my parents actually got me a cat because I was so like distressed Ed and dissociated and my cat was my best friend he would watch TV with me and because it's like I don't have a life I was a zombie yeah yeah and you and you're probably brain was probably pretty friy during that time it's not you could like you know write a novel or something like that I'm like oh I got all this free time I could just you know get a lot of work done yeah I couldn't be productive I was I felt like a steamed vegetable literally um and I would spend so much time going to nature parks I would you know wake up in a Nature Park you know at two in the morning I literally would um just spend my time I I didn't have a clock you know at this point I wasn't working I didn't really have a social life a lot of my friends were like something weird is going on with Rebecca they're going off to college so it was uh it was really dissociating it's I think the best word I can come up with how long were you Afflicted with that um probably about two years total I really struggled with that I was also very underweight at that time I had really no appetite um but that was way before I ever even got into the further autoimmune issues I was diagnosed with narcolepsy by a psychiatrist and um and then I had lost more away with the C diff later on yeah wow so what what um ended up fixing the narcolepsy was that medication or was that diet related as well that was definitely diet related so they put me on medications when I was diagnosed with it uh they put me on speed so Aderall I eventually got up to 80 milligrams of that during the day and then they put me on ambian and they also gave me benzidines Kazaam or clopin and I took those for 13 years they basically helped me to get up and out of bed uh walk around and then go back to bed you know as best as I could and I also I wasn't I wasn't sleeping if I slept it's because I also was taking NyQuil and Diffen hydramine or Benadryl to literally just knock myself out hey guys just want to take a second to thank our sponsor at carnivore bar I don't promote many products because honestly all you need to be healthy is to just eat meat for those times that you're out hiking road tripping or stuck at work and you want a nutritious snack that is just meat fat and salt if you want it the carnivore bar is a great option so I like this product not because it's just pure meat but also because I want the carnivore Market to thrive as well and the more we support meat only products the more meat only products there will be available in the mainstream so if this sounds like something you'd like to get behind check it out using my discount code Anthony to get 10% off which also applies to subscriptions giving you 25% off total all right thanks guys I remember my best friend and I had a sleepover and we split a bottle of wine and I took my Ambien with it this is not advice not recommended and I didn't sleep wink I mean I couldn't sleep it was severe um it was nutrition that made a big change I embarked on a very strict ketogenic diet for a Time I was like 4 to one fat to protein ratio and that's when I went from being bed bound to being able to sort of function again I probably shouldn't have been driving but I started driving again um I was having non-epileptic seizures I believe due to the Lyme disease sort of like auras um so it was definitely nutrition the medications that they gave me didn't help in fact I kept getting worse and worse and worse until I finally said I'm just going to rip off the Band-Aid and cut all of these because they're not helping me anymore and that's when I started working with functional medicine doctors yeah well that's that's the problem too you get only these prescription Cascades and you just get all more and more medications and sure you know you can sort of I guess function and I guess you're sort of taking care of some of the symptoms but it's it's it's not ideal and um and you sort of feel like a zombie and you're just drugged up all the time and you know some of the medications they use for narcolepsy was uh GHB which just knocks you out and um and that the idea was is that you can take this and it will force you to pass out you basically anesthetize yourself and you pass out and you sleep and then you at least you can you can you can regulate that and then you wake up and can go throughout the day I I I like I suppose you could do the same thing with copious amounts of ambient and then you're going to be dreadfully tired the next day and then you have to drun yourself up with with all I would track I I overdosed on the Aderall multiple times my eyes would be all bugged out my mom would just laugh at me she'd be like you must have overdose what's wrong with you it was wild it was crazy yeah well I'm glad you got got rid of that um because that that that does sound awful and then when you were ketos you you were able to get off a lot of the the medications with keto um all of them or or just mostly all of them all of them the clan definitely was the hardest one at all I just got right off of it it's like I'm already tired anyways it's not really helping um and then the Ambi and I weaned off you know took like a couple months but the kazap Pam honestly took uh over a year I I tried to get off of them when I had moved out and I literally had to move back in with my parents because I was having such a hard time I was having panic attacks it was disabling and then I had a sort of a second wind of withdrawal symptoms um so it's like I was in the clear I wasn't taking it and then a year after I had gotten off of it I got all the symptoms again the panic attacks the anxiety and I've seen that happen with people I work with um so the benzidines for sure I shouldn't have taken those longer than 30 days and I took them for 13 years because they said they're not they're not addictive they're not dangerous and I believed them holy how did they not say that that's of course they're addictive oh I literally asked you know I was I was hesitant because I I've always been into holistic medicine so I was hesitant I was like you know are these addictive are they going to be hard to come off of and I was just told no they're not addictive you can get off of them whenever you want they're not dangerous so my gut was destroyed probably due to the benzidines and the antibiotics I was on as a child when has it that's that's shocking to me because I I don't think there's ever been a time that we didn't recognize benzo as uh as as non-addictive I don't think that's ever been a thing that we thought that so I don't I don't know what your your doctors were smoking maybe maybe benzos you know and uh probably exactly um and then so and then you went carnivore and things got a lot better you able to conceive and iar you have a new little baby is that right yeah yeah yeah he's amazing perfectly healthy so strong he's trying to stand up already he can hold his head up yeah it's definitely the magic of breast milk and I'm I'm I've handled really well I'm so grateful yeah great and how old is he now three months three months and already trying to walk or stand up anyway yeah for sure yeah that's great um and it's supposed been cornivore throughout the pregnancy and and breastfeeding carnivore has um so as I mentioned I reintroduced some other foods but there's not a day that goes by that I don't eat primarily meat because that is what I crave and that's what I thrive on I definitely introduced more variety like I I wanted like kids Foods when I was pregnant like I was making like the chicken tenders breaded with pork rinds and I just wanted more variety I didn't want a plain steak after I gave birth all I wanted was meat I was eating probably two pounds every day just elk burgers strip steak salmon you know just loading up on protein craving it and the breastfeeding has gone really well um so well that I need to pump we have a chest freezer for my breast milk because and I'm exclusively breastfeeding so we're just oh I you went uh mute sorry about that that's okay so you exclusively breastfeeding exclusiv exclusively breastfeeding so we're just saving it for emergency or I might donate it but um production has not been an issue at all I heard that you can uh sell breast milkes like bodybuilders now there's like that's like oh no way yeah so maybe can maybe you can get a little get a little scrilla that's crazy cash it in yeah maybe Danny Vega wants some it's carnivore breast milk too so it's obviously yeah quality I'm sure you can get a premium for that yeah so um how is the the Lyme disease at this point because that's something that people struggle and that's gone okay there you go completely gone yeah and I've done that with handfuls of clients now it's it's crazy um I so I was diagnosed by a lime literate doctor I saw two them in North Carolina and I was told that it was uncurable I joined some of these Lyme disease Facebook groups and they scared the heck out of me because everyone identifies with this disease I think more so than other diagnoses Lyme disease is like oh this is it I'm gonna have Lyme disease forever I'm gonna be hersing for the rest of my life um and they just claim it and so I ended up running from those Lyme disease doctors because their suggestion was to do IV treatment and take their supplements which were literally thousands of dollars if I took everything they recommended for the rest of my life and I was like I literally can't afford this this is not a solution um so I ran from there and um I'm glad that I did because I just was would have wasted a lot of money but it's completely gone completely reversed yeah that's awesome and you were saying as well that you actually um had an issue with sers as well can you tell us about that I was diagnosed with sers by the lime l at doctors and I never thought anything of it until very recently when s blew up you know sers was just one of my diagnoses I was diagnosed with Central sensitization syndrome and a lot of things that I had never heard of before and cers was one of them so I never really mentioned it um and yeah I had sers and I completely reversed it I don't have sers anymore I've been tested again for all of these in the same way that I tested the first time um and so there are a lot of people that I think are honestly being scared into doing very expensive protocols for mold toxicity now I had s probably from a tick bite but I did have mold toxicity but I never did a protocol never did a Shoemaker protocol anything I ever took would would have been oregano oil but that didn't help anything until I switched my nutrition so it has to be nutrition it has to be that I was able to support my detoxification Pathways and my body did what it was created to do when we support it properly with food as medicine it works and I really do think that high fat uh is therapeutic for the detoxification process but that's completely gone and I have also worked with people to do that I'm not trying to do like a plug for my coaching I'm talking about the success that others have had I'm not a starfish this is doable for anyone it's just about supporting your body and a systemic level with food yeah nice and and you've seen this in in your clients as well that they've helped just with nutrition with nutrition only some of these people have been to Dr Shoemaker who referred them to someone else because he couldn't help them who then they came to me and we cut out every single supplement every prescription binder we cut it out and we do this food is medicine thing and it works and these are people who are I mean one of them was over 70 years old and she got her brain back basically she got her memory back it was incredible so um I don't I just simply don't believe that you have to do a protocol yeah yeah well apart from nutrition right right exactly nutrition protocol yeah well that's the thing too I I do run into people talking about sers and you know I I tell look I I don't treat that so I mean I can't I can't help with with the mold side of things or protocols and all these sorts of things so I have to sort of take a look somewhere else all I can do is help you with the diet side of things and and hope and hope for the best on that um so it's good to hear that more and more people are coming to this and actually being helped by it and it seems to be at least that's helpful or sometimes more helpful for some people to get rid of it yeah totally I think sometimes the um the binders and stuff especially like cholestyramine and that kind of thing that can be really harsh on the body and I don't think it's necessary for a lot of people your body wants to detox at a certain pace and if you try to push it before you've even supported your detox Pathways you're going to feel worse and so I am just I'm really in the camp of let's just support our body and let it do what it wants to do at the pace that it wants to go and that's what my coaching is all about I don't you know choose okay this is week number four we're going to introduce this supplement it's no we're going to take it step by step and and listen to the signals that your body is sending it's pretty incredible yeah that is great um and then the clients that you've worked with how long have you been doing that for now since 2020 is when I was first certified okay and what sort of issues have you helped people get over and what what sort of what sort of things have you seen that you can you can address with with diet so one of the coolest ones is women who have been in menopause and then they get their Cycles back and then they get pregnant yeah so that's always a surprise I'm sure you've heard of that yeah I usually warn I usually warn them that it could happen so they don't just get like a surprise yeah me too I've learned to start warning them now I felt bad at first GE you got a couple you got a couple surprises and really literally yeah they're like we weren't wanting this oh my God but it's still an amazing thing it and then a lot of younger a lot of younger girls who you know lost their cycle and get their cycle back I see that all the time hear it all the time you don't even have to be my client literally just eat meat and saturated fat you'll get your period back okay yeah um that's all you need and a lot of mood disorders a lot of people who have been you know severely depressed on anti-depressants for years and years or benzidines and I just understand the struggle and I and I am that person that can reassure them that hey this might take time but it's totally worth it to get your mind back to get your life back to no longer be a zombie so I see that um even people in my family I won't mention who they are for privacy sake but you know they're coming off of lifelong medications and just eating more meat every day and it's incredible to see um what else lots of autoimmune issues I work with a lot of people with Lyme disease to reverse that uh lots of Hashimoto I'm seeing I honestly have it's opened my eyes to see how many people really do have Hashimoto it's actually striking their doctors don't test for antibodies so they don't know but then when they do tests they're like oh I have Hashimoto so that's very common and that is totally reversible I do a lot of that um and then digestive issues you know lifelong constipation some people with eating disorders um I you know I was misdiagnosed with an eating disorder but I also struggled with one after the fact I struggled with severe binge eating in an attempt to save my life I was so emaciated and triggered by the side of my own body so I was binge eating for a while and that is um reversible as well I think a lot of people say Eating Disorders you'll always have it it's not true you can have food Freedom 100% um so those are some of the main things I would say yeah great and is is is that largely uh just getting them on a carnivore diet largely um it's not always strict carnivore I I know you might not like this but like I do allow a lot of vegetation with mindfulness so let's keep it low carb and let's keep it low oxalate Oh no you're going to shut me down that was no lie no no no no no thing is like the thing is though is that I mean I just I I you know I I set this up here and say look this is what I think is the best this is why I do it because I feel the best and that's what I think objectively is the best but you know if you want to do something and it doesn't affect you you want to add in avocado or something like that and you feel it you know I mean go for it I mean it's just you know if you want to enjoy that's what I always say yeah it might not be optimal but if it's a matter of being sustainable then I think it's worth it because if someone can't stick with it and they're just going to go back to standard American diet then let's at least just do some low oxalate vegetation yeah um and so a lot of people end up doing that but it is as garnish in variety those are my words let's use it as garnished you are not filling up on any vegetables it has nothing for you it's just variety um so it is always high fat carnivore high fat animal based I will say for sure yeah which is which is something that you know I've um you know been talking to people about recently because they say well we just don't have all these studies on a carnivore diet these meat based diets I'm like yeah we do of course we do it's it's most um most rigorously studied diet in the world is is a high-fat animal based diet called the ketogenic diet in fact it's the only diet that's been studied as rigorously as um as that so it has randomized control trials Interventional trials looking at at in at distinct you know Medical end points reversing type 2 diabetes reversing um you know autoimmune issues and having so many health benefits we have all these health benefits of fasting and then they say well what about fasting is hard what about a diet that mimics the metabolic State we'll be in when we fast AK the ketogenic diet and no does this help yes it does it has all these health benefits and and um outcomes and then the DASH diet you know went head-to-head with the DASH diet and beat it soundly so it's it people think that well the ketogenic di is just not carbohydrates and you could do that with a veget ve vegetarian diet U but you'd have to just be drinking canola oil and taking tons of of uh supplements to try to get you know everything you needed it's not gonna work it doesn't work and the fact of the matter is is those studies aren't done with the vegetarian version a vegetarian version of ketogenic diet they're done with the animal-based version so a whole food high fat animal based diet is the most heavily studied most thoroughly studied uh diet on Earth has been found to be the most beneficial diet so a a high fat meat diet is is the best diet so far and I think if you get rid of that so it's it's a carnivore diet with a side salad that's the most the the most uh heavily studied in the world right now think if you get rid of that side salad when we start doing those studies we're gonna we're going to find that people who do even better that but it is the most rigorously studied diet out there as the animal-based diet high fat animal-based diet hey everyone really happy to announ a new sponsor of the show for everyone in Australia and that is Stockman steaks Who deliver steaks and other meats direct to customer delivering highquality grass-fed and grass finished pasture raised beef and other meats Frozen to your door they have high fat options for those of us on a keto carnivore diet and you can even order grass-fed finished beef hopefully they'll be moving into other markets soon so in Australia you can use code chaffy for a free order of beef mints or another free gift as it may change from time to time so just go down to Stockman stakes. comom today and place your order now thanks guys yeah so true yeah so you know I think I think that's a good way of framing it as well when people are a bit concerned about that like no look this is this is actually where the data lays um yeah so you know you mentioned before that you actually had osteoporosis when you were very young um how's it now have you gotten a bone scan dexas scan recently yeah reversed completely reversed I also had um not supposed to Happ degenerative disc oh really I know yeah yeah I had degenerative dis and even that has improved yeah I was in a lot of pain I mean it was bone on bone in my upper back and that has improved as well I mean I definitely grew probably a full inch when I got my nutrition right it was insane so so the disc actually started reing growing yeah the fluid in the disc became more so yeah wow did you do any like traction sort of things hanging upside down or is it just nutrition I did yeah I got an inversion table I did that um but I had been doing that you know just anyways so I don't know how much I don't think it any of these things I've done a lot of things I've done ozone therapy I've done feal transplants I've tried all the things but it never worked until I got my nutrition right so it probably helped to some degree but it wasn't enough to you know bring that fluid back I didn't think that was possible and I didn't think I could reverse the osteoporosis either well they well you know though the teaching is that you can't um right ridiculous yeah and you put on you put on bone density or you're able to put on bone density up until the age of 25 and then after that NOP it's just entropy your body is just decaying uh which of course is not the case your body's constantly remodeling itself and repairing rebuilding itself or else you die that's sort of the whole idea and so I've seen I've seen plenty of people middle and late age that that reverse their osteoporosis I had a lady that came in um my office the other day and she had done this or she just got her bone densy uh reexamined and she went from being osteop pric to now osteopenic but now borderline on normal bone density yeah and she's you know she's in she's in her late 60s and the nurse yeah in the in the clinic was just like wow this is amazing what drug are you on what they put you on you know and because it was like that was the only thing she think of like oh you must be on some new wonder drug right that right gave you this bone density and she's like I'm not I'm not on any drugs I'm not putting on anything like Well then well what the hell happened and it's like well what are you doing it's like well I'm just I'm I'm just eating a lot of meat in fact fact I'm I'm I'm I'm only eating meat and like wow that's amazing we haven't seen it and she said that that nurse says we I've never seen anybody make this this recovery uh with or without medication you know is pretty remarkable we're just seeing it as a as a normal occurrence yeah yeah I see it all the time too without medication and in you know older ages as well and it's it's sad to me that the doctors and nurses they're amazed because that's how they treated me they were like wow you got better um how'd you do it and I'm like I only ate meat and some of them are like that's amazing tell me more but most of them are like wow that was a miracle you know you're a starfish because it's like our world could change if they would just you know think twice yeah it is amazing what the body can do when you just let it do it saying you should you just remove the barriers to your body actually healing itself uh it's pretty incredible and U well I'm glad that some of your doctors said o tell me more it's always disappointing to hear the ones that just said yeah probably wasn't that probably just a coincidence you know right um it's not a it can't be a coincidence every time you know I mean we're we're in the millions now we've got millions of people doing this and having these amazing recoveries and and uh it just that's that's too many coincidences and uh there's just too many too many pieces of evidence and uh for this to be you know just oh you're just you're just you just got lucky like I I don't know I don't think I don't think people can argue that that you got lucky I think that you've been right plagued with issues that were very unlucky and you just got um you just hit the right you just got onto the right uh the right path that's right yeah so another one that was that interested me um in the the sort of the letter you sent to me was was gastroparesis you suffered with a lot of GI issues one of them being gastroparesis and for people don't know this is when the stomach doesn't doesn't move it's just sort of paralyzed and it can't expand or TR just sort of stuck there and um and uh sort of had it looks like a was it yeah and it um and so it's difficult for a lot of people and some people that have gastroparesis they can't really eat large amounts at one time and they and it's difficult the transit time out of the stomach is very slow they really struggle with that and they really struggle with eating in general what was like what was that like for you and how long did it take to resolve and was that keto that did that or did it have to wait until carnivore it definitely improved significantly with the stricter ketogenic diet um I believe that it is linked to the Vegas nerve and blood sugar stabilization and I see a lot that diabetes and gastroparesis go hand inand very often and so I know that dialing in on the ketogenic diet more really helped with stabilizing my blood sugars and I I felt that help a lot but it was still really bad I mean it was still super slow I remember when they tested me they made me drink the die and I was there all day long and they had to send me home and I came back the next day because it wasn't moving it was that bad and so um it definitely was resolved with the carnivore diet 100% my you know I had the most regular digestion that I had in my life when the C diff came along I was dealing with severe diarrhea so it's hard to say how the gastroparesis was affecting me at that time because it was just diarrhea mucus for about a year um but before that it was very painful very uncomfortable it was um you know I mentioned earlier that I was very underweight at a time and I believe that's partially due to the digestive issues I had I was constantly uncomfortable constantly feeling bloated um it's not fun to be constipated it's not fun for your food to come back up it's really uncomfortable yeah yeah definitely it's um it's great that that that's something that that you were able to reverse really it's it I don't know it I might I might I might put that little paragraph in where you talking about all the different things you you he because it's it's it's absolutely amazing all the different things that uh you were able to improve not even improve but but reverse and uh and eliminate from your life you know I mean that's um you know a lot of people suffer with one of those things and it wck life and you had a you had a paragraph of these things that um that was I mean I couldn't even imagine how difficult that was to deal with yeah you know it was bad it was it was bad and but it's all connected so like you said earlier if you just remove the boundaries if you remove the interference your body is going to sort it all out it really really will um so yeah it was hard it was a dark time yeah I bet well you know but I'm really glad that it it's better now and it's been I mean you've been well you know five years now that you've been doing it gone by fast time flies when you're having fun yeah exactly and so yeah so how's how is life now like how is how is life on the other side of all that it's awesome it's beautiful I feel like I am a new person um it's awesome to be productive it's awesome to be able to help other people and even just be on camera like my mood disorders would not have allowed me to do this to share my story publicly to be on camera or talking with someone like you a celebrity doctor like I I would have had a panic attack before um it's amazing to unlock that potential that god-given potential that I never knew I had not even I didn't even know I had an ankling of this I had a desire in my heart to I always was into nutrition holistic medicine things like that but I never knew I would be able to really utilize it or in this way so um it's awesome to have energy getting out of bed it's awesome to be able to work out to move my body to be strong to feel strong to lift heav um it's awesome to have food freedom to sit down and eat a meal without thinking of my next meal um just a freedom to live my life it's incredible yeah that's really good and so and being on social media now you've been sharing your story so is that what's what are you doing now with uh with that in your Channel yeah I have a YouTube channel now Ken Barry really got on me he's like you need to be on YouTube so I started that a couple years ago um I'm on Instagram I'm very active there I share what I eat I share so many things for people who are like I can't afford coaching just I mean you and I both have plenty of free content I think people could do it on their own if they just watch the videos look at the free content it's there um and I host Retreats um carnivore Retreats I would love I've mentioned this to you I would love love to host you someday but hopefully we'll be doing one of those pretty soon at our new property in North Carolina yeah well I'd love to if I can it's um yeah I think this year I've I don't know I think I'm at like 10 or 11 different conferences it's oh my goodness it's pretty I understand it's pretty full on well it's just about it's about conflict I think that we were talking about it before it was just like the different dates I was just like I already had things chunked up a times unfortunately but it sounds a lot of fun and um yeah those sorts of Retreats are nice too because it's just nice it's just nice to meet people and see them and sort of work with people oneon-one and it you say you know the the information's out there I don't I don't do this as a job you know I have a job this actually takes away from my job so it's it's actually more difficult for me but it's um but it's sort of you know it's like for you it's like a passion project you know this is something that's really changed your life and you've seen it change other people's lives and you want and you want to help other people you know and that's what I what I would want as well and um you know I mean I do I do consultations and things like that but at the same time I have like this long disclaimer going like look I I put all this stuff out for free I'm just going to tell you eat meat and nothing else and so you know this is um these are these are links to a lot of different things that you know you can watch and you know try to go through these first and if you find your answers in there then great don't find your answers or something specific that you need particular help with that goes beyond just eat meat stop eating plants then you know sure so you know and that um you know that helps because I I you know I I have to charge because it's you know it does take a lot of my time and so I I have to make it worth it to people you know yeah and so I can't just have it be just anybody just saying oh hey look you know let's just do this for fun like it like I have to make I to make sure this is worth it to you because like I'm happy to help um if you need help but like you I need you to need help and so it's like oh yeah I'm the same way that's you know that's the investment I need I actually don't I used to defer payments and I don't do that anymore because it's like I want to know that you're committed to this yeah um I used to just try to help just anyone and and unfortunately a lot of people won't listen to your advice even if it's the best advice they'll ever receive so yeah yeah that commitment is really important I hear you yeah it is and so you know and I and I want people to be able to just to get on the videos and and be able to get help as well and and I don't want this this stuff to be available only to to certain people that can afford it it should be it should be to everyone and you know that's that was a sort of the argument that um you know the issue I have with some of the vegan arguments that say you know plant toxins the side you know they're saying well you can you can do just as F just as well not eating animals and you can just you know just uh just eat plants and then supplement it's it's like that's a bit of an elitist argument in position because most people can't afford to take copious amounts of supplements totally not even in India and Rural Africa but in America you just can't afford that you know that's so privileged just to be vegan like why yeah it's crazy doesn't make any sense no and so you know I like oh well that's just fine you just take all these supplements it's like well maybe you can I'm I'm glad that you're able to but not everybody can and um you know I have my my um you know different different sorts of things and I have a I have a you know a group that we do like 30-day challenge but you know I don't you know I I make that I try to make that affordable to people and people that that go on that you know we cut it in half and it's because like I don't I don't want to charge more and I get people emailing me all the time going oh you can do this and you can charge so much more and people pay like yeah I don't I don't want to do that thanks you know that's not why I'm doing this you know I I don't want this to be unattainable for people I want people to be supped so they can get the help that they need um I didn't even want to have a group honestly it's just like I was just like just watch the videos you know yeah I know but people don't do it on their own yeah well they just wanted help and they sort of want that sense of community and sense of support you have you can have weekly check-ins and do the zoom meetings and and and you know it's fair enough people people wanted that and they they seem to to like it and it seems to benefit them so it's like okay well I'm I'm happy to do that then but then these people say oh you can totally mon you can go yeah I don't want to yeah that's not that's not why I'm doing it I'm not interested in that thank you I just I want people to be able to afford this and I want people to be able to if they need the help they need help then they can just do it that's why I do it you know man I couldn't agree more I charge I've always charged I actually learned this in my health coaching certification I asked them the question how am I supposed to structure my pricing um because I didn't want it to just be like this isn't to make money but it is my full-time job and I do work from 6 6 am sometimes 5: am to 4 in the afternoon and so I have to make money and so it's always structured based off of you know how much do I need to sustain our family how much do I need to keep a roof over my head and to keep doing this to maybe get pay an editor for my YouTube channel I just did that and I've been doing this since 2020 you know so it's not it's not to make the money it's to help people but we do have to charge for our time well you do have to um you know and the thing is too that I'm sure you're the same way you know I I try to answer a lot of questions online and respond to comments and things on YouTube and Instagram as as best I can anyway you sort of get overwhelmed with a lot of the messages and you so you can't you can't answer all of them but uh you you do the best that you can but it's it's difficult yeah know and that's and that's like is a way too you know sort of weeds out a bit more you know people that are a bit more serious you know that need a bit more help they're 100% I'm so interesting that I you know I'll I'll you know go through the extra Hoops to you know to get access to your opinion you know and then that's that's a bit more you know it just means that they're they're just a bit more serious about it and they need a bit more help and so at least that helps sort of you know uh filter out the more serious people exactly yeah well that's good I'm really glad that you're able to do this and you're able to bring this to people and obviously bringing your experience and and wealth of knowledge I mean because like seriously I'll put this in the description but people look down and see like all the different things that you reverse I mean like yeah you can help anybody with anything because I don't think there's anything on there you know that I do have a lot of experience yeah for sure you know like hysterical pregnancy and like testicular cancer maybe maybe not those two but like you know like everything else maybe the third trimester I was a little hysterical but and um you know so it's uh but it's it's it's absolutely amazing I'm really glad that um you know that you're doing so much better now and uh able to share your story and I agree with kimberry like you definitely get your story out there because it's you know it's it's absolutely incredible um for people to see and it's a very hopeful story because you know no matter you know when people people there are people out there that are like you that are suffering with the same things that you were and they are desperate and they have no idea what they can do and then they they might come across you or someone they know might come across you and they can help them or come across this and and then send that send that on to them um and it's uh it's great I always I always want as many people out as possible talking about this a because I think it's really important to get people talking about the cornivore diet knowing about it but also because you know people talk about things in in a slightly different way and it resonates with people in a different way there people that say oh this is my favorite carnivore person or this is my favorite this person or whatever these are my favorite because it just something resonates with them I was thinking that people were saying some of the things that I wanted them to say so I was just like okay well this information is getting out there and that was my only concern was just that that people would know about this stuff and to understand it and so I was just like okay well maybe I don't need to you know waste my time doing it but um and maybe it just you know wouldn't wouldn't really help it just be you know saying saying similar things to people and it wouldn't really help but um I'm glad that I did because I got a lot of people that messaged me or wrote in my comments that you know that they were sort of dancing around it and they were sort of they were looking at it and they heard about carnivore but it wasn't until I explained it in this in in this way that it really made sense to them totally they did you know even though I was saying pretty much the same thing that other people were was like the way I said it and the way I presented they're like okay that makes sense and so you know you're going to say things in a way that makes sense to people that are not going to hear it from me you know right so you know just getting people out there saying it in their own unique way is is very important so you know this is this is an encouragement to everybody else who's had uh these sorts of experiences you should make a YouTube channnel yourself you should start posting these things on Instagram as well you know maybe maybe it'll take off maybe it won't but either way you're getting your story out there and you're getting your message out there and you will help someone you will help people totally it's just one person two people just one person that's gonna yeah that Compound Effect is huge totally yeah when I was um when I was here in in Perth like when I first got here like 5 years ago this this was like a a vegan hell hole I mean it was just like an absolute Wasteland of plant-based zombies you know it's like it was really big it was really big here and even a lot of like the rugby guys and things like that were like going plant-based they're just bought into this sort of stuff and um you know so just by being here and and being in conflict with that whole ideology but being you know laughing and joking about it and just being they like oh my God but how can you do that like well I mean like because of all this stuff and you know I just sort of you know laugh it off and and you make a joke and then go into it and they'd ask questions and i' go into it and they're like damn it that all makes sense and um I'd have this conversation like two three times a day with people going wait hold on what you only eat what and um and uh you know after a while like long before I had my YouTube channel um I people in earth started there started being more and more people that started doing this and and uh some people started you know people I worked with they were saying they were like yeah I was talking to someone they were like yeah there's this carnivore doctor he's talking about meet this and the other and like oh you know Anthony cha like no who's that it's this other guy he do anesthetics over it you know this other hospital and they're like oh really so there's just you know more people just this branching out and um and then all of a sudden you know like you're you're eating there normally I just horrify people because i' I'd be at the hospital and I'd have two plates one was just full of eggs the other one was just full bacon and people just like whoa like a lot of protein there and I was just like yeah well that's all I eat so you know I have to eat a lot of it and um and then one person you know most people were gassed by this and sparked the whole conversation but uh then then one day all of a sudden he's like oh you're doing a carnivore diet and I'm like yes like like yeah my brother's doing that he he really likes it he's doing much better with it I'm like no all right that's pretty cool and feels good yeah and it just started growing after that and then then you know I started the YouTube channel and then um you know that I think that helped a bit as well but it's it's nice to see more and more people do it and then you know you'd have you'd have the classic thing where you have a patient come in and they would say like well they had breast cancer so their their doctor said their oncologist would say you have to stop eating meat altogether because there's all this estrogen in meat you need to start eating plant-based and start getting your protein from like soy and things like that I'm like are you out of your freaking mind there's like thousands of times more tens of thousands of times more estrogen and soy than there is in meat per ounce and um and that's that was pretty crazy so I mean I was just like well look that's not that's not actually correct and you know show them show them the literature on it um but then more recently I had a patient come in to see me in my office she was doing carnivore and she wanted help optimizing it and um and she said uh that she actually came to carnivore because her oncologist actually told her to get on it because it was the best die for her cancer and I was like wow yeah yeah exactly oh that's so great that like a sigh of relief that's awesome yeah it was very nice it was very nice to see very very heartwarming because it was just like okay all right the tide tide is turning you know and we're not only getting people knowing about this getting doctors understanding and knowing about it and looking into it and going okay damn it there is something here isn't there and looking more into it and actually applying to their patient population and getting you know the results that you get and that're very favorable and better than than they get with standard of care and but you know this is in addition to standard of care especially with cancer you it benefits chemo and radiation to go on these sorts of things to do atic diet and or fasting just be in ketogenic metabolism so it's beneficial to the patient and it's just really good to see that that um coming around I don't know if you've seen similar sort of things in your your neck of the woods I mean there's definitely an effect of just being open um we recently relocated to North Carolina and our neighbors I mean since day one of course my husband is like yeah she wrote a book she she used to be really sick and so they're like whoa and then they see my Instagram and so they're like we got to eat only meat um and it's cool just you know having them ask me questions and it's just me just being me um and then like a girl at church that I that I ran into she um she has sio and it was like just meant to be she came and sat down on the couch next to me and we were breastfeeding and she's like yeah I'm interested in this West na a price thing I don't know if you've heard of it I like oh I've heard of it let me give you my book I brought her a bag of meat the next week and and she's gonna hop on the train and so it's just you know there's always an opportunity to share and people are watching you I think that sometimes just leading by example and living your life is the best way to convince someone to try it because they see that you are happy and healthy and thriving and you're not eating crap and it's like wow I can connect the dots so yeah it's been really really cool that's great so well Rebecca thank you so much for coming on it's been an absolute pleasure um can you tell us uh how to find you
